About

A story of love, envy and vengeance that begs a question. What makes people so different? Is personality and even popularity a birth right? Or are these traits instilled through a life of influence, whether that influence is good or bad
George, born to a popular couple from a small and peaceful village near the West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield, had led a charmed life. Adored by his family and friends alike, he had a smile for everyone and in turn, had that natural ability to make others smile. Hard working at school as well as on his Grandfather’s managed farm, he learned honesty and integrity. He learned humour from his mother and patience from his father. And he learned compassion from Lilie, the love of his life who he met at a very tender age.
That love grew as they grew but the love and dedication to each other was to be tested to the extreme, as jealous eyes started a chain of heart breaking and disastrous events.

Praise for this book

I really enjoyed this book. It follows a family through a number of years and is both inspiring, sad and happy. Really well written. I hope this author writes more books. Highly recommended.

A lovely short story with characters clearly described as you follow their lives to events- some bring joy where others end in tragic events.
An unexpected twist towards the end gives the reader time to think.
A great read

This is a fast moving story of love, envy and vengeance which keeps you gripped all the way through to the unexpected ending. Mike Tamblin has a writing style that keeps up the immediate, urgent feel to the text. A worthy first work. Can't wait to see his works in the future.
