The Truth Will Out (Differences Book 2)

About

A story of innocence and naivety. Of hatred and vengeance.
Jason was born into a hard working and successful family that offered love and support, fun and laughter. Was that enough? He didn’t know. Even when very young, his moments of unusual quiet, almost trance-like states caused some concern but he soon came out of them and was quickly back to the usual boisterous kid. He adored his grandfather and was constantly by his side, especially in the workshop, watching, listening, learning and asking many questions.
But, as he grew, he was totally unsure of himself. There was a side to him that even he didn’t like, so he kept it to himself. This would see him doing things he shouldn’t do, especially as he got to his teens. At the age of 15, he was drinking and going out and about in company vehicles, this would be the beginning of his downfall. A chance encounter with an out and out alcoholic, who carried many grudges would take Jason down a road that appeared to have no end. Where he thought that he had control, it didn’t pan out that way. Their histories would cross, bringing murder and mayhem to many.

‘The Truth Will Out’ is a stand alone novel but is linked to ‘Differences.’ A short story that follows the lives of Jason’s family. Part three is already in the making.

Praise for this book

This book really stuck with me. At first, I thought Jason growing up in a loving, supportive family,a wonderful bond with his grandfather, was every child’s dream. Honestly, he seemed like the kind of teen who had everything going for him. But as I kept reading, I realized this wasn’t going to be that kind of story.

What struck me was how early the signs were there—Jason’s quiet, withdrawn moments as a child, the part of himself he didn’t want anyone else to see. By the time he was a teenager, sneaking drinks and making reckless choices, you could see the trouble building, and it was both frustrating and heartbreaking to watch.

The part that really turned the story for me was when Jason crossed paths with the alcoholic who carried so much bitterness. From that moment, you could just feel that things were going to spiral for Jason , and they did. Their connection felt toxic from the start, but in a way that was believable—like two damaged people feeding off each other. What followed was dark, messy, and full of consequences that reached far beyond just them.

If you like stories that are raw, a little unsettling, but also thought-provoking, I think you’d get a lot out of this one. It’s not an easy read emotionally, but it’s definitely one that makes you stop and reflect.
